Brick · Mapbox GL JS

A map that reads the business, not the décor.

For SNCF we made a rail network readable: lines, stations, works, search, indicators aligned with the filter. This is not a Mapbox wallpaper. It is a decision tool — the same one we plug into a fleet, a branch network or a property portfolio.

What the map carries

Layers, not a screenshot.

Engine

Mapbox GL JS + vector tiles

Sharp from the country view down to the point. A controlled style, not the default basemap.

Data

GeoJSON & API

The map ignores the business. It consumes layers. You change the source, not the code.

Reading

Search and fly-to

Find a station, a site, a line — and open the record without leaving the view.

Control

Linked dashboard

KPIs follow the filter. Same pattern as the Diot-Siaci cockpit.

Live

Automated layers

Works, incidents, statuses: a feed updates the map. Nobody republishes a PNG.

Next

OCR, alerts, assistant

Pin a file to a point, fire a threshold, or let a chatbot query the network.

What SNCF Maps taught us

A network is not a list. Once lines, stations and works overlap, the spreadsheet lies by omission: you no longer see what touches. A map is only worth it if a layer toggles without a reload, if search opens the detail, and if the indicator strip says the same thing as the screen. That is what we built — and what we rebuild for another business.

Who it is for

Operations, risk managers, branch networks, logistics, local authorities. Anyone with objects in space still steered from Excel.

Questions

Interactive mapping

When do you need a Mapbox map instead of a spreadsheet ?

As soon as the work has an address: a network, sites, works, risks. A spreadsheet lists; a map shows what overlaps.

Can you reuse the SNCF Maps engine ?

Yes. The map only knows GeoJSON layers. You change the source — fleet, branches, property — not the engine.

How much does an interactive map cost ?

It depends on the layers and sources. Free first conversation, a clear quote within 48 hours.
